Due to booming tin mining in 19th century, Ipoh developed into one of Malaysia’s main cities and you can still see several building from the British colonial era. Lets go around Ipoh and slowly we view the whole Perak.

[Panglima Lane or Concubine Lane]
Also known as “Second Concubine Lane”, dates back to the turn of the last century, were renowned for opium, gambling and brothels. Later the lane developed into a residential area where the concubines of rich Chinese tycoons were reputedly kept.
The F.M.S (Federation Malay States) founded in 1906 by a Hainese immigrant, is reputed to be the oldest restaurant in Malaysia. It was frequented by european miners and planters. The design is a typical late 19th century chinese style shophouses. It moved to its current premises in 1923.
